Ribbon Cuttings

Ribbon Cuttings / Ground Breakings / Anniversaries

These events are free for Partner Level Members and above, $200 for Business Level members. We want you to have a successful celebration. The following is a check list to aid in your preparation as we collaborate on this special event.

  • Selecting a day and time - we have found the best days for attendance are Tuesdays or Thursdays starting first thing in the morning, close to the noon hour, or the end of the work day. This catches people going to and from work.
  • If you choose to build your own flyer, send a copy to the Chamber in a .jpg or .png as soon as possible so we can promote your event. Remember the who, what, when, where, and why details. Use a large readable font.
  • Let your guests get to know your business through special promotions, marketing material, tours and door prizes. Consider giving Chamber Checks, available in amounts of $10, $25, or $50, for prizes.
  • Consider providing refreshments for your guests. The quantity and variety is your choice. Expect around 10 to 15 from the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Invite those important to you! Include all your staff, retired staff, family, your customers/clients, vendors, neighboring businesses, contractors, etc.
  • Facebook Live event. We will conduct a brief interview about your business - and who knows it best but you! Questions may include why you chose to open this business, what it means to you, products carried, services offered, hours of operation, and anyone you'd like to introduce.
  • Continue to share the video event and photos on all your media sources following the event.

The Chamber will:

  • Announce your ribbon cutting on the Chamber’s website, social media pages, Chamber Membership Breakfast, and eNewsletter.
  • Create a specialized event flyer.
  • Providing our unique "giant scissors", red ribbon, and pens for guests and staff to sign the ribbon.
  • Make the invitation to the Chamber Ambassadors and members.
  • Conduct a video Facebook event.
  • Provide drawing tickets if needed.
  • Follow up with additional photos from the event on Facebook.

"Joining the chamber and regularly attending its events has helped me make meaningful connections in town far more quickly than I could have done on my own. These relationships have brought new friendships and added an great amount of value to the church I lead."
